Now this one is new to me, and I am still researching it. A company called Lindberg started making small plastic snap together models in 1968 called Mini-Lindys. (68 was beginning of Hot Wheels, you'll remember). These were the Hot Wheels size typically referred to as 1/64th today, but they stated they were 1/87th scale (HO scale).
They made 32 models in an initial line called Mini Lindys but after those they did not call them that...In a series called Super Sport, they released a 1971 Monte Carlo...I assume this was released in 1972 as thats what the box says, even though the car is a 71:
It also seems that this is the car that a few people have made molds from, to make Aurora slot car replicas that you can buy. They refer to them as 1/76th scale, so that may be what they really are. I'll be covering those in another post. Here is another picture...
